Goombay Regatta 2012

Rim Shot

Russell's been inviting me for a couple of years to race with him and finally I got smart and took him up on the offer. Rim Shot is a lovely Beneteau 36.7 and has her own website at www.rimshotracing.com.

We raced in the Goombay Regatta on Biscayne Bay on a perfect day with lovely weather. Some of the regular crew were out of town, as it was Memorial Day Weekend so there were a few 'newbies' aboard, which of course made the day not ony more challenging but also more interesting! All in all, we did very well with few errors and best of all no one got hurt and we didn't break anything. We used the 'delivery main and jib' and flew the assym instead of the 'round' chute, though we did put it on the pole for more downwind angle. Life was fairly simple and I had a great time! Thanks for the invite and I hope to race with you again soon Rim Shot team!
