Hospice 2015

Post race Report from the Skipper of Magic:

It turned out to be a beautiful day on the water. Winds were 10+ with predictions to increase, so we used the #2. We had a great start, ahead of the other boats with the same start time. Magic was the first monohull to round both marks 1 & 2. We hoisted the asymmetrical spinnaker on the final leg. Blue Runner took the inshore route to the finish and made the better choice, taking first in ARC. Magic was passed by Commotion about .3 miles from the finish line and took 2nd. Magic took 3rd, about five boat lengths ahead of Bandana. This is the first time in about ten years that Magic placed in this regatta!

Overall, there were 35 boats registered to race.

The after race party at Esplanade Park was a lot of fun. The band was great. The food was tasty. Hopefully, Hospice was able to raise enough $ to keep this event going.
